2010. May. 07. - 2010. May. 30.

In autumn 2009, MODEM organised a workshop for media artists. In addition to the twenty artists who came to Debrecen, other artists from the Internet joined InterModem. Eleven artists from all continents participated in the virtual workshop initiative. The exhibition was the result of work begun that autumn and, like the workshop, was based on a theme given to the participants as a starting point. The artists set out to unpack the basic questions raised in the call for entries entitled Fake. The first section of the exhibition consisted of works begun during the workshop. The works were inspired by the technical specialities provided by the organisers (speed camera, heat-sensitive camera, etc.), the company of artists from different countries (Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland) and situations, and the themes set by the curators. The second section of the exhibition presented the works of the participants in the virtual workshop linked to the InterModem Workshop, also reflecting the themes given. The idea of the virtual workshop was to involve artists who live far away from the workshop and who cannot be physically present. For this occasion, only artists who do not live or work in Europe were involved.
