Hajnal Németh (1972), who lives in Berlin, is a leading representative of contemporary Hungarian art. His exhibition in the reception area and the third floor exhibition space of MODEM presented his works from that period. In her works, Hajnal Németh usually works with visual codes that she takes from the field of popular culture or the language of political propaganda, in order to place them in new contexts of meaning. The interference of the phenomena of popular culture with high (museum) culture is a defining element of Németh’s work.
