Seven billion human brains, roughly speaking. Retrospective

2012. Jan. 22. - 2012. Apr. 29.

László feLugossy’s multifaceted, creative oeuvre cannot be divided into distinct periods, but rather his works can be grouped around recurring motifs. A typical representative of the Eastern European underground, his artistic experiments, which transcend traditional genre frameworks, include sound poems, raw-meat compositions, happenings, performances, ready-mades, objects and environments. In his style, the direct object cult of pop art is often mixed with the outspoken sexual symbolism of graffiti. From the mixture of the typically down-to-earth peasant and petty bourgeois world, of emptied folklore and second-rate modernism, he builds a specific universe rich in associations. In addition to the visual arts, he also works in literature, film and music. He is the founder of the A. E. Bizottság (Commission) orchestra and the Lajos Vajda Studio in Szentendre. The exhibition includes: ‘prologue’; ‘backyard’; ‘the road’; ‘experiment’; ‘happy end of the world’.
