My God. Christian Perspective in Contemporary Hungarian Art

2011. Feb. 27. - 2011. May. 15.

The last few decades have seen an unprecedented expansion of the artistic means of expressing transcendence. Despite this, belief in historical religions is virtually outside the mainstream discourse of institutional contemporary art, and representations of spirituality in more personal forms, not necessarily linked to churches, are rare. In this context, the exhibition presented an indicative, but hopefully representative cross-section of works of contemporary Hungarian art related to faith, religion and transcendence.
