The burden of history – Retrospective exhibition of Gábor Roskó

2013. Apr. 28. - 2013. Jul. 28.

Gábor Roskó produced one of the most exciting figurative paintings of the 1980s, representing a completely independent voice within the new sensationalism-dominated art scene. In the 1990s, in addition to his painting practice, he produced a large number of prints and began to work in ceramics. His works are populated with biblical kings, classical heroes, celebrities and historical allusions. Beyond and beyond the clichés, this is a truly postmodern oeuvre, which looks with ironic distance and critique at the grand narratives of modernism, from the Enlightenment to the war on terror.
