With his trademark sense of humour and a tendency to exaggerate, Panamarenko (1940–2019), a Belgian artist, once described himself as an inventor, artist, engineer, poet, prophet and doctor all rolled into one. His work mixes technological experimentation and artistic vision. Panamarenko has mainly explored concepts such as space, motion, leakage, energy and gravity, which have from time to time resulted in fantastic constructions of extraordinary beauty.
