Deathly Nature – Naturalism and Humanism in the 21st Century

2013. Nov. 17. - 2014. Mar. 02.

The greatest common denominator of the works in the exhibition is the concept of the word ‘man’, or more precisely the transformation of our view of human existence in the twentieth century. This process has been markedly influenced by the not at all independent development of optics and epistemology. Here and now, however, optics is not just knowledge about the nature of light, but all the technical and conceptual apparatus that, from CSI to Dexter to the television series Lie If You Can, is painting a picture of the human body and the human spirit that inhabits it at the beginning of the 21st century.
