Egy átlagos gimnázium, egy átlagos osztály, itt a közelben, napjainkban, a mai Németországban. Egy projekthét keretében az osztálynak az autokrácia témáját kell feldolgoznia. Tanáruk, Rainer Wenger úgy dönt, hogy egy kísérlettel bizonyítja be a diákoknak, mennyire könnyű a tömegeket manipulálni.

The Wave

A school teacher of history, Rainer Wenger, is forced to teach a class on autocracy. When his students, third generation after the Second World War, do not believe that a dictatorship could be established in modern Germany, he starts an experiment to demonstrate how easily the masses can be manipulated.
