Description

30+ was published as the catalogue of the exhibition of the same name held at MODEM in Debrecen from 7 March to 27 September 2020.
This Hungarian-language volume fills a gap in existing educational resources, bringing together analyses of artworks and sets of exercises to support teachers who would like to explore contemporary Hungarian visual art in the classroom.
Created by Ágnes Szabics, József Mélyi, and Tamás Don, this teaching resource introduces the recent history of Hungarian visual art through selected works, offering an analysis of one significant artwork from each year since 1989.
Tamás Don, who initiated the project, developed and coordinated the educational programme centred on Hungarian artworks. As a curator, his approach to engaging young visitors at MODEM differed from that of a classroom teacher. Nevertheless, the questions and creative exercises documented in the volume, together with the essays on individual works, offer an engaging and practical starting point for lessons in visual culture, history, literature, or even physics.
