On 28th September, the first part of the TRANSMAT – “As-Built” kick-off meeting took place at MODEM, marking an important milestone in our collaboration with FABER Timișoara within the Interreg VI-A Romania–Hungary Programme.

The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Dr. István Puskás, Vice-Mayor responsible for cultural affairs of the Municipality of Debrecen, followed by Kata Vizi, Director of MODEM.

After that, Oana Simionescu, Director of FABER, introduced their independent cultural centre and its role in the project, while researcher Norbert Petrovici outlined the research approach behind TRANSMAT – As-Built.

The day set the scene for the project’s next steps and for a shared exploration of construction, materials, infrastructure and their wider social, environmental and economic contexts across Debrecen and Timișoara.
